Rooted in Kerrville
“Our greatest fear is that we’ll wake up, and the world will have moved on. Please don’t leave us alone on this journey.”
We Won’t Forget About You, Kerrville!
In the wake of the catastrophic flooding July 4-7, Kerrville is slowly rebuilding. The losses are devastating: 136 dead (many of them children). Billions of dollars of damage. The deadliest inland flood in 50 years.
Kerrville is left with deep scars—both on the land and in people’s hearts. They carry heavy grief, confusion, and loss.
As the clean-up crews begin to pack up and leave, a new tragedy is emerging.
Families who lost loved ones struggle to find hope. Pastors and helpers, exhausted from weeks of crisis, are left with their own grief.
Without ongoing support, there is a risk that this community will carry these burdens alone, long after the headlines fade.
Rooted in Kerrville is here to help.
Our goal is to help restore what was broken - on the inside. We are helping restore hope, identity, and connection from the inside out.
This project is led by people who have walked with the community since day one. We are here for the long haul.
Why Your Gift Matters:
Right now, the biggest needs in Kerrville are not just physical—they are emotional and spiritual. People are struggling with grief, fear, and the loss of safety. Many have nowhere to turn for real support.
Your donation will meet these urgent needs by:
Providing a clear, practical guide for personal recovery. We’re developing a tool called “Rooted in Kerrville: Restoration From the Inside Out” for recovery that will equip pastors, families, and survivors with the tools & hope they need to face each day. Your gift goes to the editing, design, publishing, and printing of this life-changing resource.
Supporting our continued work with Mercy Gate Ministries, who help women recovering from trauma and exploitation. These women need steady care and a path to healing - and John 15 Academy is well-positioned to provide that.
Making sure no one is left behind. With your help, we can offer ongoing training and resources, so the community is not forgotten once the news crews leave.
Your gift brings real help to people who need it most—right now.
We are not asking the people of Kerrville to give.
They have already given all they have. Instead, we are asking you to join us. Every gift makes a difference.
Thank you for helping restore hope and belonging in a community that has lost so much.
